Since its inception, Taiwan-based startup Simmpo has been dedicated to developing products that filter harmful blue light to protect eye health. Recently, Simmpo announced that its product received the highest certification for blue light reduction (BLR) with an 80% BLR rating from TÜV Rheinland on June 24, 2024. This milestone signifies that the company effectively reduces 80% of harmful blue light peak energy in specific hazardous blue light wavelengths. Simmpo has become the first company worldwide to pass this stringent standard, demonstrating its leading position in the blue light protection technology field.
Simmpo partnered with teams of PhD researchers from National Chiao Tung University and National Tsing Hua University to develop the world’s first spectral simulator for accurately calculating blue light reduction performance. After more than a year of research and nearly NT$10 million in investment, the team conducted over 1,000 optical experiments to determine the ideal wavelength absorption ratio.
The result was the breakthrough NPA Tech 3.0 – Nano-Photon Absorption Technology, a next-generation optical layer that precisely absorbs harmful blue light at 435–440 nm while maintaining full visual clarity.This innovation led to the world’s first 90% BLR (Blue Light Reduction) certification, establishing a new global benchmark for advanced eye-protection technology.Simmpo continues to redefine optical standards
